  2. Do not use 'wildcard' characters.

  3. Searches are case insensitive: you can use lowercase or capital letters or a combination of both.

  6. Various 'stop-words' are not recognized by the search engine. If you enter words such as 'a', 'the', 'by', 'and', 'not' and so on, these will be ignored when your search request is processed.

  7. Error messages asking you to 'try again' may appear if you -
    • Hit the search button without entering information or making a selection.
    • nter an unrecognised word or a 'stop-word'.
  8. If only one title matches your search request you will immediately view the Title Details page which provides full information on that item. Alternatively, if more than one title matches your request you will see a Summary Results interim page; select items from this list to view full Title Details. The Summary Results list is ordered alphabetically by title, but you can re-order this list alphabetically by author name, or by date of publication from most to least recent.
